Vision
PADO Hologram is intended to be more than a code release.
The long-term goal is to build a shared, maintained home for holography and computational imaging research that people can actually reuse, contribute to, and grow over time.
Why This Matters
Many research codebases in this area are valuable but fragmented. They often:
- focus on a single result
- remain lightly maintained
- are difficult to extend
- are hard for newcomers to understand
This repository is trying to move in the opposite direction.
Community Scope
We want the project to be welcoming to people from:
- computer science
- electrical engineering
- optics and photonics
- physics
- perception science
- neighboring disciplines that care about holography
The shared motivation is more important than a specific academic label.
Historical Context
Projects such as holotorch
helped make it clear that higher-level holography workflow layers matter.
PADO Hologram is not trying to reproduce them exactly, but to carry those
lessons forward in a smaller and more maintainable PADO-native form.
